I'm new to the EBR community. I'm a senior with some mobility issues and am looking into E- trikes. Would like input/recommendations about affordable good quality E trikes. Look forward to communicating with you. Thank you.
You can buy and have serviced the upright electric trikes from Raleigh Electric or Izip through a Beeline mobile mechanic who will visit and deliver to locations in N. Virginia.
The Pedego store in Alexandria sell and service their upright electric trike although call ahead because as of June 14 they were out of stock but expecting more to be delivered soon.
Bikes@Vienna is a bricks and mortar local bike shop near the W&OD Trail that sells and services recumbent trikes, I don't know if they have any electric models in stock but they can order them for you.
Other brands reviewed by Court Rye are in the Electric Trike reviews category on this website.
Welcome to EBR, @DJK! Just wondering how much assistance you need from your trike and how far you're thinking of riding and a little about the terrain. The Raliegh/IZip Trike has a 350watt mid drive and 36V 11.5ah Li Battery and the Pedego Trike has a smaller 250watt front hub motor also with a 36V 11ah Li battery. Both have 3 speeds Court has reviews of both from 2017 along with some other trikes that you may enjoy looking at.
Depending upon your needs these may be underpowered for the weight of the trike itself and a person. You might want to explore having someone build you a custom trike using a more powerful mid drive or front hub motor and at least a 48V battery so you have some decent range. Then you can really get around! We've used simple Schwinn Meridian trikes to do the build and the cost is similar to that of the Raleigh/IZip & Pedego.
