I've just got my first ebike, this forum has been an amazing resource.
I've ridden normal bikes most of my life, but a few years ago I started to get arthritis in my knees. I thought my cycling days were sadly behind me.
My 75 year old mother had arthritis in her knees as well and has had 2 knee replacements. She was the one who decided to get an ebike, I was sceptical at first, they seemed heavy and I wondered if it was just a bit of a fad, we both went for a test ride on some budget bikes and we were both really impressed.
She bought one, and although I thought it was fun I never really considered it a serious type of transport.
Fast forward thee years and now I have one of my own, I want to use it for commuting, as well as fun of road riding.
Today is my first day using it for commuting, a 60 mile round trip, it's early days yet, but it seems like it might be feasible, I'm really looking forward to improving my fitness and doing my bit for the environment.
