My eBay journey started in an odd way. After my wife was 40 years, decided she didn’t wanna be married anymore, and the pandemic started to loosen up in early 2022, I just thought I needed to spend some time out of the country. I went to Spain for 10 days and after seeing an article in international living about a company called Cycling Country in Malaga Spain, I contacted them and ask about a tour around the city. They were just coming out of the pandemic themselves, and we’re happy to have someone want to hire them for a day. They said they had an E bike offer on their website, and I said I will probably need that. (The place we had been living for the past ten years was biking-hostile, and I had gained 30 pounds!) I took the train down from Madrid and an Uber to the appointed place, and hopped on. I rode 30 k that day, up and down hills and along the Costa del Sol. I was hooked! (I was 68 at the time and hadn’t ridden at all for ten years!)
When I got home, I started asking the editor of a review site I wrote for to get opportunities to review e-bikes. I got a few foldables, and then the opportunity to review a full sized Himiway A7 Pro Commuter! This has become my favorite bike ever! I had moved to have better access to biking trails, and ride almost every day it’s not raining, snowing, or over 100°. I commuted to my job (9 minutes, door to door on trails!) until I retired 18 months ago. I got a car rack last January and can now start somewhere besides home, and am really loving being back on two wheels again!
I’m not a hacker/mechanic/tech guy, so I take it to shops when needed, but other than a general shakedown after I assembled it, and a problem with the derailer due to shipping pressure, I’ve not had to do much but ride and charge.
