Hello everyone my name is Tim i'm an electrical engineer who has a passion for buying faulty and items in need of repair. One of my latest projects is a Giant Dirt E that has a failed motor pcb so its now a frankenstein as I didn't want to pay £1200 for a new motor

Welcome Tim. There are some very good builders here. By PCB do you mean the motherboard/controller?

Yes it was dead when I got it. I think someone had been testing and put 36v through the canbus side as there was puncture marks on all the cables. Internal fuse blown in the battery so that was no good either

A short could have caused both. Inspect carefully. Look for a crimped wire and inspect all connections. Look at areas subject to abrasion and even under the battery, between it and the motor. We want to hear more and see more photos.
