Hello. I'm Tim from Oklahoma. I joined this site because my son has an electric scooter that has quit. It's only a couple of months old and I'm not real familiar with exactly how they work. So I haven't attempted to tear into it yet. I figured that I had better do a little research on them and talk to some people that are familiar with them. The scooter appears to of lost power, whether it be the battery or motor I don't know. It claims to be fully charged. All the gauges are working and such. But when you try to throttle it up,, the back tire barely turns about a quarter of a turn. Then nothing. I've checked that the brakes aren't locked up. The wheel will spin freely. It just acts as if the battery isn't any good anymore, or the motor is shot..
Anyways.. I thought I'd join this site and see if anyone is familiar with the same problem and might be able to help me out...

Hi Tim and welcome to EBR. Before you go tearing it apart, if he bought it new, it must be under some type of warranty; and if it is, you don’t want to void it by attempting a fix on your own. Good luck.

His grandmother that bought it for him said there's no warranty on it.. that's why she's wanting me to look at it. I'm pretty good with electronics and working on things..

Back to square one Tim. I’m sorry I can’t help you, but hopefully one of these good guys on this site can. Good luck.
