Hi all, my name is Sylvia and I am the owner of the largest Dutch speed pedelec community: www.speedpedelecreview.com. I founded this platform about four years ago as the Stromer Forum. Even though Stromer is still the leader of the high speed e-bike market in Belgium and The Netherlands, the competition has started to grow, hence the change in name.

My first speed pedelec was a Stromer ST1 X. My second a Stromer ST2 S. Currently, I drive a Klever Alpha X 45, with Gates belt drive, PINION C1.12 gear box and 1.200Wh battery :) It's not the most beautiful bike out there, I like the Stromer designs a lot more, but this Alpha gave me so much value for money and the bike fits me perfectly, so I couldn't resist.

Welcome!
Everyone adores Dutch bikes. Here is an electric one with a mid-drive torque sensor that I sold over the weekend to a big fan of Dutch bikes. He lived in the Netherlands for 27 years. The motor is between the pedals for good weight distribution. Now I am doing this one today as a build from the frame up with a conversion. When finished it will be lightweight and will not look electric as it blows past store bikes on the hills of San Francisco. I got the headset and fork in yesterday.

Oh wow, you are into the classics! The first bike on the picture: I drove to school with that same type when I was a kid :)

That's why this guy was over the moon about that bike this weekend. It has the old style Dutch internal roller brakes and the original built-in lock. I got it from people who collect art and European antiques. They had it inside there house as a conversational piece. The buyer this weekend would sometimes have two teen friends on the back as a kid. They did everything on those bikes.
Check out this red one for fun. The battery is disguised but you can see the little black wire. The brakes match the wheels and frame color. See the leather saddle with the spring in front?

I wish I could get one of those Klever Alpha X-45 and a spare battery in the US.

That looks very heavy. The pinion gear box does nothing to help the motor because the motor is a one speed so the Gates is also wasted. It would be better to drop battery size and weight putting the motor where the pinion gears are located and using an internal hub of gears with the Gates.
