I now have 2,300mi. on the motor and it's never been opened up. It's just as quiet now as it was on day one. I figured I'd wait until it got a little noisy before attempting maintenance but that hasn't happened. Am I wearing out my gears by not re-greasing? Worst case scenario I'll wait until winter but I might end up with another 1,000mi. by then

It used to be that Bafang was notoriously stingy with the factory grease... That doesn't seem to be the case as of late.
That said waiting for noise and it may be too late.

Re-greasing the Ultra motor...is it time?
The Ultra motor is my UC Pro is getting louder and louder, so I think it may be time to re-grease the gears. This is the first time I've done this, so any tips would be appreciated. I've watched a handful of videos on this topic, using Corn Head grease, and it looks to be a straightforward...

Can’t speak for the Ultra mid-drive, but my Bafang H550 geared rear hub motor is god’s gift to my fat bike… I love the bike, and I think the motor is best part of it.
I have no intention of opening this up. I’ve had two of these motors (long story, not having anything to do with the motor), and both were well-sealed and I don’t think they need any maintenance. The current one has over 3K miles on it and is perfect. I’m expecting the motor will outlast the bike, but I have a third as a spare in case I need to rebuild the rear wheel.
Having said that, if you’re inclined to poke around, I don’t see how it could hurt. Good luck!!!
