got a notice to take my bike in for service but I think it was just because I forgot the wheel magnet.

as far as the dealer says bulls doe not put a service reminder on their bosch powered bike. but yesterday I put a new wheel on and rode about 300 feet and got a error code and resized I forgot the magnet. this morning on a rode I get the message to take the bike in for a service checkup. but I think it was just caused by my magnet error yesterday. do I need to take the bike in and get the message cleared? it just got updated a couple weeks ago.

Seems like odd timing on the service interval. The interval can be cleared at the dealer, if desired.
I asked the bike shop that sells bulls several thousand miles ago when bulls would pop up the service message and they told me bulls doesn't actually set it. I will see if it happens again.

All Bosch-equipped eBikes should have the ability to have a service interval programmed. This is never done by the OEM.

When your eBike is new, and/or in for service, the technician at your shop should have a conversation with you about how you ride, etc., and set an appropriate service interval based on ODO and/or calendar date (no date on Purion.)

To reiterate, service interval is set by your dealer, not the OEM, and all new Bosch-equipped eBikes should ship without an interval set.

ok so they said they never set it. so it is going off because I forgot the magnet?

Service interval is completely unrelated to error codes, including the 503 for a wheel magnet issue.

I suppose it's possible the OEM set the interval at the factory, but I've never heard of that happneing in my 3.5 years with Bosch.

Most likely explanation is that someone set it and forgot they did, or the person who set it was not present at the time this was being investigated.

yes that could have happened I just checked the odometer and I bet it happened when I hit 9000 miles. no biggie I will take it in and get it cleared. I still have one battery to get updated. when you get that message is it more to just get someone to take their bike in for a tuneup? or checkup? there is nothing in the bosch system that needs checked though right?

You are correct, the service interval is just about routine maintenance. In reality, it's more of a reminder to get the non-E components of your eBike serviced, rather than the eBike system itself. It is a good idea to get a software update 1-2 times per year.
