Giant (yamaha) battery self draining?

I recently got a new Giant Explore 3 and noticed it drains about 15% over 5 days of no use. This is with the battery left on the bike sitting idle in the garage. The reason I think it's weird is my girlfriend's haibike doesn't seem to drain nearly as fast. Is this normal or should I start talking to the store...thanks

There are great electrolytic capacitors, and there are lots of others. Bargain ones leak. My new circle wheel controller discharges so fast the connector makes a big pop reconnecting if it has been disconnected for more than 5 seconds. So I would say my bargain power wheel has bargain electrolytic capacitors. Your giant, who knows, but it may be one of the bargain lines in pre-made ebikes.

Update: I did drop my bike of at the shop and they talked to their Giant rep. Giant basically gave them some software diagnostics to check out the bike and everything checked out. I asked them to charge it to 100% and hold it for a few days and see if the drain seemed normal. It lost 6% over 3 days of idling. That wasn't too far outside of what they observed from their other ebikes.

So I guess Giant batteries self discharge was the bottom line I got from them. Not the end of the world but it still seems kind of weird to lose 10% of your power just sitting there over a week.

I'll say it again. More likely your controller dischargeing the battery, than the battery itself discharging.
Do the experiment. Unplug the battery, see how much it discharges in 3 days. OTOH, plug up the battery, you say it discharges 6%.
I expect there will be a difference.
the electrolytic caps which could be excellent or leaky **** will be in the controller. Mine are ****. Giant is not the most expensive of e-bike brands. The caps themselves are under $5 each. The difference between great and **** is about $1.50 at retail. In thousands, the difference in cost may be greater.
