Giant Li Ion Charger

My charger for my Giant Twister Freedom DX batteries has just gone Tango Uniform. It was designed by Sanyo and of Chinese manufacture. There are numerous chargers that meet the same output specs, but they all seem to be predominantly 3-pin XLR. This one is 4-pin. On taking the charger apart to confirm the fuse is still good (and seeing the abysmal sloppiness of the assembly), I confirmed that there are 4 wires coming of the board. I assume two are for comms to the BMS. I can provide lots more detail, but wanted to see if anyone is familiar with these. The options I see are:

- Have someone build a 4-pin charger. Expensive, but I've seen a couple of possible sources in UK
- Get a 3-pin charger and either:
- Figure out how to rewire the battery side to 3-pin female sockets, or
- Build and adapter cable from 3-pin to 4

I've had no luck in finding wiring diagrams for either the BMS or the charger board online. I admittedly confused as to what they are doing with the 4-pin setup. The manual says to unplug when fully charged, so there clearly isn't a lot of intelligence built in. The batteries appear to be still in good shape, so I'm looking to do the minimum to keep them charged for now.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated--I'm open to other approaches, too.

Cheers,

Tim

Thanks, I haven’t heard of them and with give them a ring. The Satiator looks like an awesome machine. Of course, if just the adapter cable works, my wife will be a a lot happier :)
