Bafang puts in a thick-ish white lithium grease. Over time - about 3000 miles - the stuff seems to disappear, leaving the gears moist but not truly greased. For years I just re-greased my motors (I have bikes with 4 of them, two on 1 awd bike) at a semi-annual interval with plain dime store white lithium grease (Lucas brand). A couple years ago I decided to try Mobilgrease 28, since I had a ton of it for use on my BBSHDs ... and M1 Garand ... and its really excellent stuff. But to use it, you have to clean off ALL of the white grease in your motor because M28 is clay-based. So far I have done three of the four motors this way and none of them has needed a re-grease since. All of them got quieter immediately upon use. But again you have to go to the hassle of removing all of the lithium based grease.
SHC100, being a lithium grease, is supposed to not need this cleaning step. I have no idea if it has the same longevity as M28, but since I have many motors its worth it to me to have 1 proven grease to use across them all. Especially since I have to buy it in a big tube that contains about a 5 year supply even with 6 bikes to use it on.
