Front End Job

I finally installed the suspension forks I purchased in late November on my Ecotric Fattie 26". The install was easy beans, you simply need to remove the side mount adapter on the calipers since the new forks are a front mount. I also changed the stem mount for more adjustability. So first things first. You feel the added weight and the changed geometry. At first I thought I might have tightened it down too much but it's simply the way the forks sit further forward. The steering is heavy but something I will easily get use to. I also lowered the bar height....very different feel. I will need to experiment adjusting the suspension a bit. They actually work fine on the down stroke and totally remove the jolting ride the ridged forks provided. Without any air the forks top out, mostly an annoying click rather than a "thunk"....easy fix. I will give an update once I really put some miles on them. My wife and I just spent 5 days riding off-road and camping and my shoulders like to feel as if they are dislocated. Really glad I didn't send back these Suspension forks ($148 on Amazon...numerous branding/same fork I am pretty sure)

Anyway nice upgrade to a $ 750 fattie.

I picked up the same fork well like you said same manufacturer different brand
Got them on ali express during winter sale for $86 shipped
Do you rise on paved roads alot or mostly for camping?
I wasnt sure if I needed them but I figured I could go to a higher psi and maybe get a little more speed and for the price I figured why not.
hopefully they'll be in feb
I read you need a special pump for them
Did you get the pump to go with them pop
The ad says the were 1.86kg that's a little over 4lbs is that accurate?

You probably want an air pump for shocks. I let all the air out of mine, and while I could get most of it back in with my harbor freight floor pump, I had no idea about the air pressure, which is set 60-120 PSI.

About $30 for a shock pump. Looks like a tiny air pump with gauge, but mine doesn't work for tires.

I did order the shock pump today. I still have some adjusting to do. Front end feels heavy but I think it's due to forgetting the top spacer. As far as more mods....this is probably as far as I will go. I don't want to be into a $750 bike for $1000. It should work just fine now as far as my shoulders getting pummeled when off road. How I rode a ridgid MTB when I was younger baffles me lol.

On the 20" Ecotric fat tire folder, I didn't sense any more heaviness in the steering, but I did appreciate the cushioning from the suspension. The old fork on my bike was steel, so that offset the weight gain. The new forks came in at 3.8 pounds.

Yeah I'm sure my wife will eventually come around on the forks and controller/led mod. I want the white lowers/blue graphics for her forks, getting confirmation if trying to order them hasn't been too successful when I email. They just say they have the forks but evade the question on specific color shown on catalog page.

Ok update!! The heavy steering was due to headset bearings. I suspect the "high stem" riser and forward mounted bars simply put too much uneven pressure on the bottom Bering set. So that's all been replaced with much higher quality cups and berings set and the steering is perfect. Also dialed in the forks to provide enough damping and rebound to take the "jar" out of ride. Although not "serious" mTB suspension these forks are a "serious" value and are truly adjustable ( they no longer top out at all) and can be locked out with a simply lever on the top of the fork. I'm a happy camper. :)
