Frame Warranty Now *1 Year* - Formerly Lifetime

The Way back machine says this change was in place on April 27, 2020, and there's no earlier records, so I can't tell when it was implemented. Probably late 2019 or winter 2020.

I thought this was uniquely awful but apparently Ride1Up, Rad, Super 73 also have 1 year warranties. Aventon, Biktrix, Pedego have lifetime. Vanmoof is 3 years across the board. Dost is 2 years, surface 604 is 3 years, Priority is 5 years.

Perhaps it changed when Juiced started making their own frames in house.

Wouldja look at that. I'm surprised. Didn't think that would change. I can only speculate as to why it did.

That's not good. Frame warranty is an important measure of how much confidence the manufacturer has on their frames. It doesn't matter if the bike is cheap or expensive, frame is not something you can compromise just to decrease the cost...

So when Juiced started making their own frame in house, they all the sudden got frame warranty claims?

If frame warranty claim is something that they rarely / never see, they would have kept it lifetime.

If that's the case, this isn't good, especially when Aventon and Biktrix offer lifetime... as for Pedego, for the price, they better be.

Perhaps Juiced was able to make the original contract manufacturer pay for warranty claims before? That's how it works with say Shimano parts, though I'm not sure if you contact Shimano or Juiced about a defective Shimano part.

Wayback shows the Scrambler debuting with 1 year warranty, so maybe it started with the Scorpion.

All in all, it dovetails with Juiced's brand positioning going from utility first to recreation first. I could see them discontinuing the CCS in 2022 if they don't introduce a new model by then.
