Fitting new break pads

Hello guys,

My CCX came from Juiced with a slightly warped front rotor, so after 1100 miles I finally got time to replace the front rotor with a Shimano rotor.

I also tried to install the Shimano E01S metallic pads into the front caliper and even though the shape of the pads is the same as the OEM Tektro A10.11
I can not make them fit. The pads/spring sandwich goes all the way in with a click, but the retaining pin is slightly skewed, just enough that it misses the second
hole by about 1mm. The original used pads click and fit just fine, so it does not seem to be me doing something wrong.
The only difference that I can see between the Tektro A10.11 pads and Shimano E01S pads is the thickness of the backing metal plate with is slightly thicker in Shimano.

Any ideas if this can be solved?
if not which pads would you recommend for a commuter with a lot of miles that would definitely fit in the Tektro caliper?

I'm curious if you ever removed the caliper during this repair? Something is off or askew. The new pads, clip could be off. Or possibly the warped rotor threw off the caliper alignment. It's certainly possible the damaged rotor damaged the caliper. Unlikely, but possible.

Make sure the caliper is aligned properly. You'll have to fit some pads to do this. The rear pads possibly?

Brake rotor and calipers, it is really important to use a torque wrench.

It doesn't sound like user error. Tektro pads are available on Amazon. I've found pads for both Tektro and Shimano to be identical. There can be different thickness from one brand to another and organic versus sintered metallic. Pads are pretty cheap and last a long time. If you can't get this resolved quick and easy, it might be best to move on.

I don't think it has to do with the caliper installation. The retaining pin only secures the pads in the caliper. The wheel is removed at this point so the rotor can not get in the way at all. It's only the interaction of the pads and the caliper.

I actually reinstalled the old pads, aligned the caliper and the brake works fine. I am riding the bike.
For some reason the set of Shimano E01S pads does not quite fit though, so I need to get a set of pads that would work.
