First self charging ebike by exercise mode.

ya I cant imagine this bike working well for charing its self. humans dont put out that much wattage. most people cant put out 200 watts for a hour. I love how the back wheel is out of true.

kind of ironic to ride on a stationary bike inside for exercise, then use the power to ride outside without pedaling as much ... when you could just pedal more outside!?!?

i think there was another version of this concept that recharged itself very slowly while riding, essentially saving up a little juice for hills or bursts of speed. i can see a few rare situations where this would be interesting, say a very long road ride with a few extremely challenging steep sections. you ride at a human output of 150w for 3 hours, donating say 10% of the energy to the battery. 45wh. then on a really challenging 30 minute climb you can have 90w of assist, which might make an impossibly steep climb doable.

here's one version of it :

cool that it's all integrated in the rear hub but man that's gotta be a heavy rear wheel.

I did noe ride where I averaged 206 watts for 16 miles I think. My heard rate was around 140 averages. ya a good workout and a hell of a lot more fun then riding that indoor bike.
