Faster acceleration? Rattan XL or Lectric XP

I ordered a Lectric but I've been considering canceling and switching to the Rattan XL for the ability to throttle to 28. I know Lectrics are zippy for a 500w, but I wonder if the Rattan 750w has the same pick up off the line. Anyone have any idea?

I just bought an xp off craigslist. The owner bought the rattan. He said the rattan was faster top end but said the xp was better on hills. Not sure about out of the hole speed.

Radmini's are nice, I just don't want to spent that much. The Lectric is $900 and the Rattan is $1,100. The Radmini having slower low/mid acceleration than the Lectric is what makes me worry about the Rattan being slower too.
I was trying to find a way around the 20mph just throttle on the Lectric but I haven't found a clear cut plan to do it.

Thx, yeah I've heard that too. That was one of the rattan's with the 500w in it. The new pre-order rattan XL has a 750w in it.

I believe they use different style motors. Rattan pushes their regen, so that has to be direct drive. Rad, I know, uses a geared motor in its Radmini.

Given motors of similar size, a geared motor will pull better on a hill while the direct drive motor will have a higher top speed. That would imply that from 0-15 mph the Radmini might win in a throttle only race, but it cannot get the top speed of the Rattan. If they have gone to a larger motor in the Rattan, this could change.

Yeah it's funny how that works. I asked a guy on youtube that had both a lectric(500w) and a radrunner1(750w) and he said the lectric was zippier with more pick up but the Rad could throttle to 25mph. I'm starting to learn that it's not just the make and power of the motor, but also how the controller and display is set up.
I want to have as much speed as I can. I'm not sure if I should just get something with a 750w motor in it even if it's slower and just learn how to tinker with it.
