Howdy Ebikers! After over 500 responses in the Spring 2020 Reliability Survey, we are back with an updated version for the Fall. Please take the survey below:

Just like in the Spring, the results will be posted here, on Reddit, and on www.ebiketestlab.com. Let us know if your ebike has been trouble free or troublesome. The Spring survey certainly had some surprises. Let's see how the brands stack up this time around. Thank you!

We've already had 100 surveys completed, let's keep them rolling in!
Not to be Negative Nellie but...
Let’s remember that forums are often places where people come to complain. We don’t really know if anyone taking the survey is a verified owner or marketing freelancers paid to set negative/positive expectations. Myself included. We also don’t know if the survey creators have an agenda or not. As such (and as a former corporate marketing slug) I don’t take surveys too seriously. That said, I did fill it out.🧐

Thanks for taking the survey! I'm the person behind it and my only agenda is to improve the ebike industry. My ebike had some issues right away and I saw a need for a reliability survey (similar to what Consumer Reports does). Therefore, I launched this survey last spring. I don't make any money from this survey.

Those are good points regarding who takes the survey and I'll keep them in mind when reviewing the responses.

I wish you luck in improving the ebike industry. My major concern is that we as consumers have very little say in what we are presented with. But that’s not just the ebike industry! What frosts me is that we, as consumers have no real choice in options within a given model. For instance, I was forced to buy the Allant+7 Lowstep with a non-adjustable handlebar stem and a certain seatpost/seat. Why, other than money, does a company like Trek not offer a couple of options instead of making us buy secondary equipment capabilities is beyond me. They could make more money by offering those options and show customers they are listening and reacting to our wants and needs. Lord knows Bontrager has lots of equipment to offer as options.😎👍

Thanks again for developing the survey and helping to improve the EBike industry... well done!

Just a quick reminder to take the ebike reliability survey if you haven't already! The more responses that come in, the better the survey results will be. Thanks to those who have already taken it!

The structure of the survey was a little odd. Initial question was how many brands to you own (3 for me). It then says it will cycle 3 times through the survey, once for each brand. But then the questions start with e-bike #1. It assumes 3 brands equal 3 bikes (for me 3 brands and 5 bikes as I own 3 Terns all of different models/years). Maybe it would be easier to just to allow folks to fill out as many as they choose and have each survey stand alone. I backed out but if I get time I'll revisit.

Good point! I updated the wording to “how many ebikes do you own?” Thanks!
