Exess eBike CAN be Shipped to the USA!

Watt Wagons is going to become the exclusive distributor for this bike in North America only theirs will come with the advanced controller as stock and more options

Exess Coming To NA
This is going to be the best way to get the best version of this bike, but I's going to be costly. A great looking bike though, that is going to be more go than show and it has lots of show.. A commuter/hybrid version of this bike with a belt drive would be so great. Still might be out of my price range and I don't spend that much unless I know it is the perfect bike for me, and no way to tell that ahead of time. Things are changing too fast, but I think this company is truly pushing the envelope in quality and performance which is good because one without the other not very useful.

Following-up on a previous discussion, elsewhere -- I contacted the company directly.
Rumor had it they refused to ship to the USA.

THIS is the eBike we were discussing -- possibly, the most-beautiful one I came across in my research, so far:
https://www.exess-bikes.de/

I just had to check directly with this company about why they would not ship here.
The problem are the batteries -- but they offered a solution.
I'm NOT saying this is affordable. But you DO have another choice, now.

Here are my results, so far...
Answer from the company, direct - as of October 14, 2018:

" The problem [with shipping to the US] is the battery. it is almost impossible to ship li-ion batteries, anymore, due to them being rated as "dangerous goods". We could ship the bike only (without battery) and the customers in the US would have to buy the battery from Luna Cycle for example. They use the same battery as we do. I will send you pricing - without tax, of course. We would not collect tax here. You might have to pay a Customs Fee.

Viele Grüsse / Best regards

Once I receive pricing, I will post it here -- if anyone is curious.
I have received the same consistent answers from many companies over the pond. It is always all about the battery due to HAZMAT restrictions. I like the fact that you can still get the bike though. A little pricey, however, still a sharp and well thought out design IMO.
