Evelo Aurora 750W

Great news. Power, low c.o.g., automatic CVT, step-through frame, 750w mid-drive, on-demand full throttle, hydraulic disc brakes, fenders, lights and a rack. The fully loaded Aurora seems clearly the best choice for my purchase early next year. Sounds like the Toyota Highlander or Lexus RX hybrid of ebikes. Decision made. I’ll have all winter to think about the car rack and gear. Cool.

I'm glad to hear it can downshift easily when going uphill under power. Mine is a bear. Very hard to twist the shifter. I addressed that issue with Alex at Evelo years ago. He had no suggestions other than to ease up, which really slows you down. It is very easy to shift on flat ground or when going downhill. Now, if they would just make it lighter...;)

Do you have the cable shifter? The electronic shifts with thumb and finger no resistance at all. IMO this bike hits all the good points at a good price point. They knocked off 700 on mine during their subscriber sale, I was kind of holding off myself but with 0% financing and the sale price it brought it down to the price of a cheaper bike. I love mine, as far as weight I like the heavy frame as no wobbles or instability, be even heavier when I add all my travel bags and gear, but I don’t noticed it. I lift the front wheel on my RV rack and roll it until the rear is there and one lift gets it up, not bad, I leave the battery off. The double box it shipped in, now that’s HEAVY! I would hate to pay return shipping on one of these, but Evelo covers it both ways, great co. To deal with IMO.

They sold it $700 off? So what price did you pay?

My wife likes to run in Automatic mode, so no need to adjust shifting at all - manual mode has a bit of a delay (maybe 1 second?) which isn't as intuitive/immediate as a traditional derailleur. At first, manual mode is frustrating, as, due to the delay, it's easy to forget which direction to twist the shifter - took multiple rides before I could reliably remember which direction I wanted to twist the shifter to get the desired shifting - as such, I typically leave in automatic mode as well.

Jerry, that's a great price!

I have the cable shifter, standard on the N360. Yours is probably electronic and much improved.
