I was thinking on swapping every time I go to top off the battery and keeping the 625 in if I'm thinking i'm needing the longer range at that time.Done regularly on the said Trance E+ 2 Pro

Exactly the same situation here. Now, the Trance E+ is owned by my brother. He not only rotates the batteries but also chooses them for long or short rides the same way as Dallant does. Rotating batteries will have tremendous effect on their longevity, as the number of charge cycles will be spread onto two batteries.I was thinking on swapping every time I go to top off the battery and keeping the 625 in if I'm thinking i'm needing the longer range at that time.
That said, now that I have a 625, I‘ve started doing something a bit different. Riding with the same battery over two or (maybe) more rides. I‘ve decided to do this even with the 500s since I have 50% or better charge left from my average 20-40 mile rides. Maybe I should have been doing this all along but haven’t.Exactly the same situation here. Now, the Trance E+ is owned by my brother. I just got my 625 yesterday for my 2020 Stance e2 wondering if you have the part number for the rock guard? Not sure if it's the same for the stance but would like to see plus it looks like it black and I like the idea of having it be black on my 625. My 500 is red and I know the stance also had blue one as well. Having the part number helps me look more in depth in to my options.Who Giant are thinking they are? I am very much irritated. Read on.
Any serious e-MTB has their battery protected against rock shards and rocks themselves. Since many designs for frame-integrated batteries make them bottom insertable (Turbo Levo, Giant e-MTBs), the battery is lined with so called "rock guard". (Non-MTB e-bikes need no battery guard).

Both the battery and the motor of Giant Trance E+ are protected against rocks with their individual rock guards.
I e-mailed a Giant LBS asking for an upgrade to the EnergyPak 625, and I specifically mentioned it has to come with a rock guard. Guess what. The rock guard can reach the LBS in November 2020. That's a bad joke! Besides, the rock guard costs US$70, okay for me but not the waiting time! But that's not the end of the story.
The recommended retail price of the EnergyPak Smart 625 is... US$1200!!! Come on! Specialized (who are by no means cheap) charge US$925 for the 600 Wh battery and a battery cover. Twelve hundred bucks for a similar Giant battery?! There must be something very wrong with you, Giant...
I wonder...... if weather your left or right handed plays a factor on which side you naturally want to lay your bike down? Wait Aren't your rotors closer to the ground the other wayNow you've made me self conscious....View attachment 57621
First of all, I don't have the part number. I got a paper invoice from the LBS and it was lost. You actually should ask your Giant LBS, as I don't think you could buy the rockguard without ordering it from Giant.wondering if you have the part number for the rock guard?
I was hoping for the part number just so I could see what option i might have. I pretty sure I will half to get from the dealer. The local dealer is a friend of mine just wanted to see about different ones that might fit before I bug him about it. That way if I find one in a different color that fits I can give him that part number just like some dealer car parts they might not list them for that model but they bolt right up sometimes. I'll have to do some fishing and see if I can find info. At some point I'll pull mine off and see if I can get some numbers off it. Punch them in and see if they lead me anywhere.First of all, I don't have the part number. I got a paper invoice from the LBS and it was lost. Thanks for taking the time to find that now it's time to start down the hole

Today I received this exact cover from GiantBike Spares over in the UK . It got to me in the US fast! So Thanks again Stefan for the part #. This cover is black and this also fits my 2020 Stance E2 which is red it looks sharp. I will upload photos of both the original 500 with the red cover and the 625 with black some time in the next week or so.
