Electric Bike Review Riders Club on Strava

As I'm still without my Vado SL I've decided to put the Schwalbe Super-Motos back on my Frey. I hope to be back in the game soon... :)

Now, I'm torn about what tyres I should put on my Vado SL :) I decided to go back to inner tubes. Now, winter tyres or still Tracer Pros? :)
Yep, it's a difficult decision. The Tracer Pros will have much less rolling resistance, so more mileage but less grip if conditions are really bad! Hopefully, the weather will allow the Tracer Pros to be used but you do have more chance of freezing/snowy weather than we do here in the UK.

With our typical wet winters, I was expecting to put my new Continental Terra Speeds on my Vado SL, but I also have a set of 38mm Continental Contact Urban Reflex tyres, these are currently fitted to my Sirrus. I could see them working well on the Vado SL to maximise range, as they're very fast-rolling, but it would limit my riding to tarmac roads and paths. On other surfaces like gravel/mud, they can be very slippery.

I can see myself using both at some point over the winter. That's the benefit of sticking with tubes, it only takes 10-15 minutes to swap over to new tyres. :)

I plan a 50-mile ride on 25th December :) Will anyone compete on that day? :)

I see you've already put in 50 miles, and its only Tuesday! At this rate you might top over 200 miles in a week... :)

Alas, I am working this evening, which should be a crime on Christmas Eve, but someone has to do it - and this year it's my turn. :D Tomorrow though will be full of eating, drinking and getting merry... 🎄🥳🎅 I may be too tipsy to ride my bike but we will see. 😁

Merry Christmas! :)

It is fun to see the leaderboard expressed in miles :) Once, I tried to set my Strava to miles. What should be an instant process (just applying a conversion factor for the User Interface) took ages, as Strava decided it had to convert every single ride! :D Of course, I escaped to kilometres before it went too far! :D

'For some must watch, while some must sleep
So runs the world away'

I'm sure you will be free from working on the St. Silvester Day (December 31st)! In 1986, I had 'industrial practices' (as a technical university student) in a sugar-plant in Wrocław. The plant was old and infested with breakdowns. The campaign was the longest in Poland, starting in mid September and lasting for 112 days! We worked in the "three-shift" system, and I could celebrate Christmas like everyone else. However, it was my turn to take the night shift on Silvester. Man, what was happening there! Almost all the crew was drunk :D as it was normal in them good olden days :D :D :D I, the shift manager, the extractor operator and the girl at the juice cleaning station were sober. At some moment deep at night, a man from the powerplant runs in and is yelling and swearing, showing a flask full of brown liquid! 'What the f*ck is that?!' Turned out, the evaporator operator was drunk and fell asleep at his station; he let the evaporator overflow, so the sugar juice flowed to the powerplant instead of the condensate... While the men at the vacuum evaporators merrily dumped 40 tonnes of liquid sugar down the nearby river! (The prosecutor came in the early morning...)

I hope your work is more peaceful! :D
Tomorrow though will be full of eating, drinking and getting merry... 🎄🥳🎅 I may be too tipsy to ride my bike but we will see. 😁
Good feasting and stay at home!

Merry Christmas! :)
Same to you!

Not! Maybe if it were a sunny dry day I would sneak out for an hour in the afternoon, but the forecast calls for 100% chance of rain and 1.4" of it - which means actual rain, not just the usual drizzle.

My personal batteries need recharging more than the bike's batteries need discharging.

Man, Santa is mad at me. got a puncture in the front and back tire on the way to work yesterday. The front sealed fine back was low on sealant and air so I plugged it and used co-2 when I got to work I added more sealant the front had plenty when I checked. I guess I got a puncture in the front on the same route to work. I did not notice it till I went on a errand and the tie was low. so more sealant. I don't get coal I get punctures.

Sad to hear that Steve @fooferdoggie...
You are my greatest motivator for long rides now in the winter! Every time I finish my daily rides, I look with anxiety to the Strava Club wondering if you beat me on the day, especially as you have the time zone advantage!
Merry Christmas!

Hey, my week still has almost 7 hours left! :)

I planned to ride today, but partly sunny with 20% chance of rain turned into dreary all day drizzle - so have to be content with working on the bike instead. Was hoping to test and tune the new seatpost, saddle, and pedals I put on but that will have to come during work commutes I guess.

How come you never sort by elevation gain??

I have no slightest idea how it works! The Club location is Seattle (I had to give a location, and that turned out to be your own location!), so the leaderboard should be only closed at 00:00 your time on Monday! I wonder what would happen if you set off for a ride on evening your time?

Haha! As you know, there are three Leaderboards: Distance, Activities, and Elevation Gain. Of course, I am interested in the Distance only :) foofer has won all three competitions last week!

I am not even riding that much
I do not know anyone else who set offs for a ride thirty-five times a week or five times a day :) Are you a bike messenger?! :D Or, a bike policeman? :)

Have you guys watched the 2012 movie 'Premium Rush'? (Netflix). It is an action movie involving NYC bike messengers and a bike cop. I regret so much the pedal bikes have been replaced with fat tyre throttle e-bikes, and such a movie could not be made today!

'Always wear a helmet!' I believe the messenger would have his lower back shattered by the heavy chain in this scene! A fixed gear steel bike and no brakes? Guy, why do you even wear a helmet? :D

I only wrote 60 miles. It wasn't commuting.
You rode for almost 160 miles :) I understand you made two typos in your sentence :)

you guys must be slackers :D
Wasn't I in the distance lead 3 or 4 weeks in a row? :D Unfortunately, I hardly can ride during a snowy winter. This Fri-Mon I am in London UK, which will eliminate me totally! Good rides!

I made the leaderboard.... for elevation gain! 😂
Who would even think England was so hilly! :)
