Electric Bike Review Riders Club on Strava

RWGPS really shines when it comes to editing long and complicated routes prepared by someone else. The tools for cutting routes, clearing waypoints, Auto-Trace and other features are really good. However, I do such editing pretty rarely.
I know you're a fan of RWGPS Stefan and it does have some good features but you don't need to do any of this in Komoot. It'll tell you where they've been and what they've seen. You can then edit the route to include as many or as few, of these highlights as needed. The focus is on these highlights.

If you just want to edit a route without much regard for what you'll see along the way, use RWGPS, but if you want an interesting ride - choose Komoot. It's much more user-friendly and informative about POIs...

Then analyse your ride in RWGPS, as it offers probably the best statistics and analytics. But it's no substitute for Komoot. :)

I know you're a fan of RWGPS
No, I'm not 😊 Jeremy is.

I am fond of Komoot because it takes the bike type for route planning (which is vital). [The POIs are not taken into account by Wahoo]. Komoot also shows the pictures of what you can expect on the trail!

I like RWGPS when the group loop ride leads from A to A but I want to ride from home, intercept the group at the point B, exit the group at point C and go back home. RWGPS has the best selection of maps.

Strava is the memories repository, maintenance log, and social media for me 😊

An important note:
RWGPS is the best for North America.
Komoot is the best for Europe.
:)
Yeah, it does have some extra features for those in North America, but granted, it is good at navigation in Europe, and its stats are probably the best of any site, they're extremely comprehensive!

On another note, my Vado SL developed a problem this afternoon. The bike wouldn't turn on. It appears to have been resolved now after much tinkering but for a moment I thought I'd be returning it to Balfes. :(

Will have to see how it goes over the next few days.

Topping the Strava leaderboard may have to wait :D

I wouldn't say that I'm a big fan of RideWithGPS — just that it meets my current needs.

In the past, my rides were butt-limited to ~25 mi. Now they're neck-limited to ~35 mi. If I did more route planning for rides much longer than that, as you guys do, I might change my tune.

Also, I like to follow my nose and don't mind stopping to consult a map on RideWithGPS or the Specialized app to figure out my next segment on the fly.

But I repeat, everyone should do what floats their own boat. Beyond that and riding safely and respectfully, I think cycling should be as should-free as possible.

You are lucky Jeremy, to us in Europe blighted by horrible weather it looks like you live in what I'd describe as a wonderful holiday destination. I can't say I'm not a teeny bit jealous! :D

How did you solve it?
Not 100% sure what the problem was tbh... The bike wouldn't turn on after repeated attempts.

I tried charging it to see if that would kick some life into it - it didn't turn on and wouldn't accept a charge. I plugged the RE into the bike and nothing. Tried the charger again, and again no joy. Checked the charge socket for dirt but it all looked good. Then tried it again with the RE and it came to life. Bike showed 33% charge - it appeared to be just the RE powering it.

Plugged the charger in for another time - no joy again. Thought I had an internal battery issue, but gave it a few more attempts swapping between the two, finally plugged the charger in and the bike came to life and started charging. It indicated that it had 45% in the battery, so it had plenty of power in the bike... I then left it to charge for a while to 80%. (set in app).

It's now turning on/off as expected.

Strange issue. Hope it doesn't reoccur. :(
