Ebike field/ Specialized Ride problem on Creo

I have a garmin 130 plus and I run mission control on rides to collect data. I use the specialized “Ride” app after rides to see the data mission control logs. I like it because it gives graphs of battery charge, motor power, rider power that you can see at any point in the ride, plus a chart of time in each assist mode.

Now for the problem: I added an ebike field data field on my garmin that showed battery level and assist level. That worked fine but my Ride app no longer shows the battery level or time in assist modes. Mission control still shows the battery level. I want things back the way they were so I unpaired ebike field and removed it from garmin connect. That didn’t solve the issue. I went for a ride with the garmin turned off but Ride still doesn’t show the battery and assist level data that it did before using ebike field.

Any ideas about what else I can try?

Hmmm. I can't answer the question but do you think by once setting it up, that killed its reporting forward?

I recently added the "e-bike" sensor to my Garmin 1030+. It shows battery level for the Creo but it does not show either Cadence or Power (picked just POWER from the options as there are a ton of "powers!")

while you’re riding, does mission control show rider power and motor power still?

if you look at older rides in ride, do they still show all the data?

did you turn on a fake channel at any point while trying to get it to work?

I don’t watch mission control during rides, I start it and put the phone in my pocket and just watch the garmin during rides. Yes, older rides in “Ride” still shows the battery and assist level data. It stopped when I paired Ebike field. And I have never used the Fake channel.

Both Rider and Motor power do still show up in the Ride Graphs, just the battery and assist levels are gone, which is what Ebike field showed.

Im thinking I might try removing my creo from mission control and then reinstalling it. I don’t know what effect that will have on the previous data, though. Ive only had the creo for two weeks so it wouldn’t be a big loss if I lose the prior ride data.

I used the same system with my Vado SL for the last six months and it all worked together. That bike is now on its way to pro’s closet and my creo is a great ride. I’m surprised how different it feels and rides compared with the VSL.

removing it from MC and re-pairing won’t affect the ride data. it’s pulled directly from specialized’s cloud, AFAIK.

That is correct. I recently got a new phone and had to pair it. old ride data still shows up.

I removed my Creo from mission control, then reinstalled it. The Ride app still doesn’t collect the battery and assist level data from MC. Since this only started after I installed ebike field I assume that has something to do with it. And I already removed that app from garmin connect and tried rides without even using the garmin but it’s still not working. What I miss is the data showing my percentage of time in each assist mode that used to show up in the Ride app.
Any other ideas?

Calcoaster, I had the exact same problem not long after I started with my Creo SL as well - that is the battery and assist level data not showing up in the Specialized Ride app record of my rides. For me, the problem started after I had my bike for about 2 or 3 weeks but fortunately it 'spontaneously' resolved itself after about another 2 weeks (around 10 rides) - and now continues to work perfectly OK. I never got to the heart of why that data was not showing up, but I did install Ebike field onto my Garmin around the same time (I didn't make the connection like you did). While I was playing around with Garmin IQ apps, at one stage I uninstalled Ebike field and installed Ebike multifield but as I didn't really need the additional data from that I uninstalled that and reinstalled Ebike field onto the Garmin (1030 plus). I'm still using Ebike field and the battery and assist data is showing up for every ride in the Specialized app still. So not much help I'm sorry. I can't recall if I updated any of the apps at that time or not (quite possible). Good luck, I understand your frustration.

Thanks for detailing your experience. It turns out that there was a mission control update that auto updates, at least on iPhones, and that caused the problem. Specialized solved it after a week or two with a software tweak.
It was just coincidence that it all happened when I started using ebike field.
I’ve been using Blevo again and the post ride analysis it gives you can’t be beat. If you’re really into data, use Blevo for a ride, then email yourself the “send CSV” file. It’s a spreadsheet of one second intervals of the ride with everything from rider and motor power to motor current and temperature, as well as all the standard speed, cadence, distance…. It doesn’t work with the new 2022 tcu system, though.
