If true, sorry to see Deleted Member 4210 gone, banished from the site. He joins Chris Nolte of Propel as one more professional within the ebike world who no longer contribute to the site. And that, to me, should be counted as a loss for everyone here who rely on this forum and site as the #1 source of ebike information.

Depends though. Mike only saw his opinion and and bashed others. If you're running a business, you need to have a more balanced approach. I liked his business model that he laid out in one post, but at the same time, he criticized buying from D2C vendors which many of here do because LBS options are limited.

FWIW, I am just going to say that my wife and I recently concluded the sale of 2 Ebikes from Mike’s Ebikes. Over a two month period Mike was nothing but professional, courteous, and personable in our interactions, taking much time to educate us ebike newbies and to inform our decision making in very low key manner. He continued to assist us after the sale to tweak our bikes for improved performance and satisfaction. If you read the reviews of his business in Google Maps you will find that our excellent experience was typical.

I realize that other peoples’ online perceptions may differ from our experience, but I would attribute this to the constraints of communication via social media, where strong opinions seldom resolve differences. While some (many?) may welcome his departure, I believe that Mike’s passionate advocacy and knowledge will be missed in this forum.

In Whitehall Michigan A small Very Small Country Town. I ran into a Group this summer of 30 Couples , All of them on Some form of Electric Bike . That was before I got one . They were a group From the other side of State near Detroit . About a 3.5 Hr Drive by Car , They had Ridden all that way . About 220 Miles . Whitehall is the Farthest you can Go West before Lake Michigan .

They were Riding according to them 70 miles each day. At the time I never thought to ask where they were re-charging . None of them had much gear . So I assume they were stating in Motels

Geez, I'm going to miss Mike around here. Wonder if it was self-imposed exile or a ban? Granted there was the odd abusive and personal post but I always valued his candour, frank and indepth opinion and diversity of viewpoint. He's in that class of user who has forgotten more than I will ever learn about ebikes. (it's a large group)

Not sure on self imposed or not but his previous posts that are still up are listed as deleted user #4210 or something like that...

Why is Chris Nolte not longer posting on the EBR forums? He's still a EBR forum member.

Not sure why he was “banned” but professional? He spent more time editorializing & patting himself on the back vs being an ebike professional.

You're talking about Mike or Chris Nolte? I found Mike constantly defending Aventon(he took great offense anything critical of Aventon), to a point of being offensive(even if I totally agreed with Mike).

Mike. Don’t know of Chris.

He sold his stores and became a YouTuber.
A great story...

After suffering a back injury while serving overseas in the U.S. Army Reserves, Chris Nolte turned to electric bikes as a way to return to his active lifestyle. Soon he was inspired to start his own electric bike company, with the hopes of transforming transportation and promoting sustainability. In 2011, he opened the business that would eventually become Propel Bikes in Brooklyn, New York, and in the years since, Chris has used digital tools from Google to find customers and grow his business. All that hard work is paying off--Chris recently opened a second location in Long Beach, California.
