Differance between original BBS01 and BBS01B mechanically.

Have an original BBS01 and the Nylon gear is starting to wear out, the rest of the motor is fine.
Ive not been able to find anyone who sells the original BBS01 Nylon gear, and the only one thats for sale is the Nylon gear for the BBS01B, however the 2 gears whilst they look the same are not compatible with each other.
Has anyone else had this problem and know of any solution.
Seems a shame to have to junk the whole motor for the lack of a $20 part.
Tnx.

They parts stream for early versions has dried up. A rebuild by a LBS will cost nearly as much as s new bare motor.

Thanks for responding.
Yes I know the differances in the gears, Ive pretty much resigned Ill have to get a new motor and in Australia they arnt cheap.
Must be a lot of the old BBS01 motors still around that will have to be junked when the Nylon gear dies.
The motor itself seems very reliable , Ive done over 30000 kms on mine so cant complain.
Just hope the newer ones are just as good.

Luna had a AU shop. And Balarat has a very active hobby builder. Google should find them. I have one in my kit but if any other part goes bad it may not be fixable. There are no controllers available.
The BBS01B and BBS02B are definitely improved versions. But with the newest versions being discussed may supersede and dry up that parts stream. I would buy common repair parts to have close at hand.

Thanks tomjasz for the above links.
I came across this article by sheer luck which seems to imply all is not lost.
Have you heard of anyone doing this ?
Im tempted to try as if it works its a relatively cheap fix compared to junking the motor completely and buying a new one.

Yes Doug the author has done this. But given your mileage I’d replace it with a new bare bones motor.

Thanks, Im inclined to do both, buy a new one and try to fix the old one as I hate junking things which have very little wrong with them.
Do you know whether the BBS01B motor will work with a C961 display as that will save me a bit when buying a new motor.
tnx
