So civil liberties are going to sh!t in Canada too,.. I'd better keep my doggie passenger south of the border. Meanwhile high crimes are going down that would blow your mind. -S

Forgive me if I am mistaken, but the sensational title of the article has nothing to do with his ticket, which appears to be something to do with the rider's age, likely under aged for riding an e-bike? That is a fairly common law, and the only likely reason for enforcement was related to having the toddler with him. Must have been a slow news day.

Uh yeah, that was pretty obviously stated wasn't it? Missed that part! Still hardly a news piece I would say - it is the law though, passengers have to be over 16 too (not sure how that would work...).

I did know this was a crime in Canada! As it is in most cities and towns in the world. I know the closest town I ride to, it's illegal for anyone to ride any bike of any kind on the sidewalk and there are police that patrol on the sidewalk on Segway people carriers handing out tickets Do as I say, not as I do The cops on patrol are really overweight as well and I give them grief (in a half joking way) saying they need to be pedaling
