This is my first ebike purchase, I like the looks of both bikes, but they each have features that the other bike does not have. Most of my biking will be for pleasure as opposed to commuting. Looking for advice from experienced riders as to which bike to choose.
Howdy, You are considering two fine eBikes. I have no specific knowledge about Haibikes other than what I've read which has been very good. I own and ride two Trek eBikes.
I love 'em. 4400 miles, no problems. Trek support is great. My Trek 700+ commuter has the same motor that comes with your Supercommuter 7.
The Bosch Performance Line 63nm of torque. The bike/motor is strong and fast.
The Haibike SDURO Trekking 9.5 comes with the Bosch Performance Line CX which is the same motor as on my Trek Powerfly7 mtb. The CX motor has 75nm of torque.
Between my two bikes I much prefer the CX motor, it's just so much fun to ride because it will 'climb a brick wall' . Don't get me wrong the Performance Line motor on your
Supercommuter 7 is excellent, but in my case it's geared for speed. My bike is a Class 3 (28mph max) your SC7 is a Class 2 (20 mph max )
Your SC7 comes with the Bosch Purion controller. The SDURO 9.5 comes with the Bosch Intuvia controller with I prefer hands down. The Purion Controller was originally
designed for mtbing. Because the motors on the two bikes you're considering are different, 63nm on the SC7 vs 75nm on the SDURO and if your two bikes perform
similar to mine, I strongly encourage you to test ride each bike.
The motor differences could be the deciding factor, everything else is sort of a wash. Both bikes have excellent components, both companies are great. I have no knowledge
of Haibikes support dealer network etc as compared to Treks which is second to non. Good luck. You are off to a great start and will have tons of fun !
