Just thought I’d post an acquaintance Gregory Maasen is riding on a cross country tour starting on April 2. Gregory will be riding a Riese & Muller Supercharger over a 3,400 mile route. His tour website lists his itinerary including where he plans to charge. He also is raising funds for peripheral neuropathy research. https://ebiketour.org

If you ebike in the DMV, check out the group Greg started, “Electric Bicycle - E-Bike Lovers Washington DC”, It has group rides in DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia almost every week, year round. The rides are all fun, challenging and the group is filled with wonderful folks. (You can find them on MeetUp.)

Last night I was privileged to watch the debut of Dr Maasen’s documentary of his 2022 Ebike ride across America, titled “Only lazy Americans e-bike”. The Screening was in Washington, DC. Thanks to hours of great drone footage, and hauling a heavy camera, the documentary does a good Job showing the different terrain, weather, and landscapes through which he rode. Among the guests were two members of the Bay to Brooklyn team of firefighters who also ride across America on bikes and e-bikes - those guys have a chase car to carry their stuff, while Gregory rides solo hauling his gear on a Burley trailer. Dr Maasen is planning a second tour across America in 2026 to raise awareness for peripheral neuropathy research. I asked the film editor about distribution and was told it will be uploaded to YouTube in due course.
