Well, if regular cyclists are bad for the economy, what about us ebike cyclists? Are we worse? Are there fewer jobs because we use our bikes for many errands.
lol....enjoy your day.

Actually that sticker on the back of an SUV would be my choice....a update to " a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac"

True, but I cycle commute so it is more likely to be seen, and makes more sense on my bike.

7,200 miles on my bike in 8 months, 2,200 on my vehicle, and 1,000 of that was 2 round trips from L.A. to Phoenix, so really 1,200 miles on the vehicle. Frankly if I didn’t have a family I wouldn‘t even have a daily driver. Just my ‘39 Tudor for the occasional need on rainy days. I much prefer cycling

Okay I know it's a joke but seriously though, what kind of economic impact will ebikes cause?
I don't think it will be negative, it would just mean that money will be spend on different things.
From experience [don't own car]: sorry to say but you are right: it is spent (differently for sure, but spend)
Maybe in the same way somebody getting a [lease] car from an employer?

Yeah, this pamphlet is certainly written by the authors of the pro-smoking booklet ;)

Maybe people start working less if they do not need to spend so much time/money in or on the car:
would or could also be good for health and economy
Not sure if the cost of cycling is comparable with that of driving a car (buying, insurance, riding and maintenance)
and would for sure vary on the region where you live: one of the reasons people here buying
(e)bikes as mode of transport to work is that prices of driving a car (and public transport) is high compared to the average wages.
[and we Dutch tend rather not to spend our money on useless/pleasant things]

Actually,
He already owns a car and pays insurance for it AND in many cases, on his ebike as well.
He buys more gas (in addition to a bike rack) to haul his bikes further away.
He pays a higher electric bill.
He still sends his car(s) in for service.
Healthy people live longer, buying lots more on houses, more expensive ebikes, vacations, food, etc.
They still go to doctors and spend money on drugs.😉
