The Cybervelo EK7 showed that it had the four mounting screws on the head tube to frame mount a front basket. I had bought the basket but when the bike arrived it did not have the mounting plate welded on..
I did not want a hand bar mounted basket so I tried a few ways to mount using stainless steel hose clamps with some success but it would rotate when riding over bumps . After some thinking I bought one of these
In order to center the basket on the mount I needed to drill two new holes and enlarge two holes.
The included clamps were way too long so I made two custom clamps using this kit
One clamp on top and one clamp on the bottom of the head tube and tightened them up. I covered the head tube with duck tape first for some protection then attached the clamps, tightened and covered with more duck tape. Solid and secure now....
Might not be the prettiest look with the tape but a solid mount is functional where none was before.
Note I was given a credit of $75 because of the lack of a mount on this batch of EK7s. The seller said some batches of bikes don't have them yet there was no mention of that online before purchase so I got a surprise.
