Current power compared to other mid drives

I did not ride them back to back, but I was considering a vado 4.0. What I will say is the vado is completely seamless in power delivery. However, it can't do what the current can do in pedal assist 5. The current feels like it is propelling you. And, for me, it is a very good feeling as if I am using PA 5, I am exhausted going up a hard grade for me. And feeling that power kick in just makes me more motivated.
I may rent a vado and do a back to back, but I have not done so yet. Still working through some (probably minor) issues.

I rode a Vado SL, before I bought a Current and thought it was broken with its lack of power. Personally,I ride in PA 5, 90 percent of the time And only use 3-5 gears. Nice mid range bike, IMO.

The SL isn’t a full power ebike. They sacrifice motor and battery for weight advantages. (A great sacrifice for people that can already do the same rides on regular bikes). I couldn’t do what I am doing today on a regular bike. Not a chance. Not sure about an SL. The vado I tried was a regular.

I had a Bosch gen4 speed bike in 2019, I now have the Priority Current. Kinda hard to compare because the first bike had a 12 speed, so it would get to 28mph very easily and maintain it, withe the 5 speed IGH it is hard to maintain anything over about 23mph for very long. That bein said, the Current is quick is pas5, almost like a turbo, fun to play with if you’re close to home. When I am on rail trails and greenways I can go from pas0 to pas1 as needed with gear and it does very well, I think the Current is a good bike for the price , at least in 2021

I ride in pas 5 only around town. 25 mph is easy for me to maintain but I usually only go for 10-15 mile trips, so no problem with the battery capacity. Did you buy yours at Costco ? I think it’s a decent buy at $2599, but at $ 3399 , not so much.

Right, I don’t think I’ve ever used 1st gear, don’t know if you have it, I got the redshift stop shock 100 mm stem and redshift seat post… made a big difference
