Haven't met many Aussies have ya mate? That guy looks like a douche.
I know you know that your Vado SL has a Mahle mid-drive motor, so the "first" here refers to the whole bike?New motors are coming out of the woodwork. But this is a big one, Mahle's first mid drive...
Good point - I mean coming to market on their own, not as an arrangement with another company like Specialized. In fact thinking about it, this looks to be the first motor they have designed from the ground up, the X35 & X 20 hub motors coming from the Spanish ebikemotion company acquisition originally.I know you know that your Vado SL has a Mahle mid-drive motor, so the "first" here refers to the whole bike?
Sadly, with 850W of peak power, it's illegal on public roads and trails in California.
Absolutely illegal in Europe. Yes, delivery couriers ride it and sometimes have their e-bikes confiscated.Same as they did with 1500W Bafang m620 motor - nothing.
Isn't the S-Works version stronger, and the Specialized version just derated?Brose/Spesh Gen 4
Peak power 666w
Torque 101Nm

I know its petty, but the side casing lettering just screams cheap chinese.
The best part of that video was the marketing animations from the vendors.Good discussion about the new motors, power arms race, software and DJi making such waves. Alex bike tester can be quite anti-DJi but very in-depth in industry analysis.

Mahle do manufacture in Germany.the mahle
Ha. Was sure you meant the Goboa. But that's probably just the name sounds so Chinese and I hadn't heard of them before. The Mahle name plate on the side of the motor is surprisingly cheap looking. Yet I'd seen other pics where it was much larger in polished aluminium. Very German engineering like.the mahle
