Hi,

I'm picking up a new bike today that I'm planning to turn into an Ebike in the next few weeks. It's a Felt Nebula Cruiser 3-speed. I've included a picture of the bike and a link below to some of the spec. This will be my first conversion and I'm brand new to this so I'm interested to hear your advice. I'm thinking of going with a Bafang BBS 750w mid-drive motor. Any thoughts? I'll keep this thread updated with pictures.

Love the looks of that bike...
You're thinking that 3 speed hub will hold up well enough to handle a BBS? Brakes?

You will loose your coaster brake with a Bafang mid motor or a rear hub motor. Take a look at the Tsdz2 for coaster brake.

Ahh, the Felts have an "integrated" caliper brake hidden in the frame behind the pedals? I saw the lever but mp brakkes.

That's fine for 8 mph cruising, but the BBS02 needs a front brake. I would replace the triple front fork with another triple that has a disk brake mount, or having a hood welder tack on a mounting plate,

Some owners, I see, have converted to gasoline, so a mere BBS02 ought to be easy.

In the OP specs, it's written coaster brake. There is only one brake lever for the front drum brake.

One piece Ashtabula crankset removal will require an adapter to fit any type of mid motor.

TSDZ2 coaster brake version as mentioned is about the only solution I can see for this bike in it's stock format but it will hang down alot due to the style of down tube to bb connection.

Hate to say it but probably not the best candidate for conversion.....

Is there a crank adapter for that bottom bracket?
I don't think that a TSDZ2 would hang down too much. Standard installation is with the motor below the bottom bracket anyway.
It does look like the shifter cable runs under the bottom bracket so that would probably need to be re-routed.
I say go for it, if there is a bottom bracket adapter for that bike. It would be a sweet ride.

EDIT:
installed on my Cadillac Fleetwood cruiser bike the tsdz2 has a 8 inch ground clearance and the installation on a bike like this looks pretty good IMO.

But you may need this adapter, from problemsolvers.com.
