Couple geared front hub questions

The wheel came with those tabbed washers. Maybe instead of filing off the lawyer lips I might try notching the tabbed washer, the lips are very small and only displace the washer by less than a mm. The Jack has a pretty sturdy fork but I'm still going to use at least one of the cheap torque arms for a little extra insurance though. There always seems to be some niggling issues with installation of these hub motors. I've had mid drive TSDZ2 on this bike at least a couple times with zero aggravation but I see that there isn't enough room between the crank and the bearing cup for a cadence magnet wheel, I do have a bottom bracket cartridge sitting around that should work instead of the stock standard axle.
