Contact Rad?

Anyone able to contact Rad by phone for questions?

I understand they are shut down by Corona...but I have questions.

😊

You might get some of them answered by posting here?

I haven't tried to call them in a while and have no idea what they're doing about the virus, but when things were normal they might have answered an email more quickly.

What kind of issue are you having? Maybe someone here can help.

TT

Unless they show the bike in stock, think molasses in January. Even if you were able to contact them, I would not plan a vacation around anything they tell you....

Thx all. I just wanted to find out how long deliveries are taking...different models.

It says on the website when to expect bikes to ship. I would suspect that is the best estimate, and is updated when more information is available.

Took them several weeks via email to deal with a broken part issue. (Not under warranty) just needed info to order a replacement.

Parts is out of stock anyways like everything else now.

It's not just them (as i'm sure most know) i am in medical device manufacturing and any company the sources outside the US is having trouble with inventory streams. But that doesn't make waiting months for my RadRunner Plus any easier.

Thanks for the input here folks. I broke a magnetic disk last week and am still waiting for a response to my request for a quote. Sounds like it will be a while and the part will likely be out of stock. Unfortunately I can't find anything that looks like a suitable replacement elsewhere (any suggestions?...it's the 2016 model year with magnets). At least the hand throttle still works and now I can manage my expectations. These are strange times for sure. Stay safe people!

Are you talking about the PAS sensor?

If so, there are a bunch that will work fine with just a little "creativity". They're all going to be 3 wires with a negative, a positive, and a sensor wire. Doesn't take much to figure out which is which.

No, not the sensor...the disk that mounts on the crank shaft that the sensor reads. It's missing in this pic.

Thank you. Interesting. I guess that would mean the purpose of the PAS sensor is only to determine if the crank is in motion - not the crank speed?

That's pretty much exactly what my experience is telling me.

To take that a step further, a 12 magnet ring won't have to turn as far as a 6 magnet to tell the PAS it's moving. The only downside there is you may get an unintended lurch by just moving the crank a hair. Doesn't happen very often, but it does happen. I feel it's well worth it for the near immediate response when turning the pedals/crank.

Just an update...heard from RAD on Friday and got a quote on my part which is apparently in stock. I think it took 9 calendar days to get a quote as I understand these folks are both working form home and simultaneously swamped with business. Part on order. All good.

Has anyone dealt with or heard a Rad "Product Support Specialist" named Mina Inthapandith?
We have exchanged several emails with her over the past few days. Just wondering if she is legit.
Thanks.
Curt

Ras in Europe has been very slow to answer by email but they are always available by phone.

I ordered a Rad Mini 4 two months ago and they have not been able to deliver it. They are checking into this, but its likely I will cancel the order and go with a different bike manufacturer.
