Cold weather shipping of eBikes

I've read plenty of advice and comments on storage and use of batteries in cold weather. But my question is about the health of the battery during shipping in bitter cold. I placed an order on the 28th, and called them today to delay shipping till next week. We are seeing temps well below zero in Central IL the past few days and many below zero temps this week at night. Wind chills in the minus 20 as well. They reassured me it would be no issue during transit, but the company was happy to accommodate the delay. I know the semi will be at outside temps, as well as a terminal that will be barely above outside temps. Any experience or opinions? So should be coming in temps more near 30+ degrees compared to 0, is that any better?

They will be fine even in the cold as long as they are stored the truck and within packaging and not charging or using them in freezing temps. Lithium batteries stored in freezing or below freezing have discharge ratings of -20 C and will be fine.

Lithium ion batteries are best stored at room temperature and at 30-60% capacity, though these batteries should not experience any trauma from being exposed to the cold. This especially rings true for quality brands/companies, who rigorously test their batteries. Lithium ion batteries will not perform their best while at extreme temperatures and you will see a decrease in range while the battery, but once the battery returns to room temperature, the battery should perform per usual.
