My wife broke the end off the charger wire that connects to the male end of the battery on her Ebike. The connect is a 2.1mm DC power plug. The charger is an MDA Li-ion Model # DZL(M)3710A0 42 V 2A. I repaired it temporarily by splicing an extra 13" wire to a new 2.1mm connector so that it does charge the battery. I am wondering if this will negate some of the safety features of the charger?

Shouldn't if the splice was well done. The charger hasn't a clue that you added some wire
