Charger confusion

Okay, took my new Metro home from the shop Friday afternoon, plus a 15 mile rec ride. Put the battery on the charger that came with it, left it for 6 hrs. Sat morn wanted to go for a group ride but only had 45.6 V showing on display. Had to give up about 5 miles in, even with lots of PAS 0 - display started flashing at about 44V. Had enough to get me up a few short hills and home.

Checked all connections on charger, tried wall outlet to insure working, hooked it back to battery and left it for 8 hrs.

45.2V.

Back to shop Sun morn, "Hey, I can't charge my battery, what's up with that?" After a while they figured out the charger was for a 36V battery, not 48V, had to read fine print on backside of charger. Got a new charger, put the battery on for 6 hours and had 53.6 when I disconnected it last night.

One upside, I got an early read on range. With an initial reading of 50.2V I took a 21 mile test ride, then the 15 mile fun ride and 10 more for the group fail. So, 46 miles starting with less than full charge then run until near cut out point.; 50 miles should be easy (once my butt toughens up) w/60 possible on single charge. Good to know.

Also really saw/felt the difference in assist when I got to the low end of battery, very noticeable, took 1-2. levels PAS higher for what felt like same boost. That surprised me, wasn't expecting it.

Anyway, 70s today and tomorrow, super windy tomorrow, then snow Wed and Thur, then back to 50s. Ah, Spring! Should only miss a day or two of riding. I'm really in that first rush of ownership, loving it.
