Changing display from type A to type C

have an All mtn 2019 with Yamaha PW-x, am wondering if I can change display (have type-a that is damaged now) to a type-c display? would be a nice upgrade in my view--
also would have to run through frame? or is there a plug at/in display, and if not I imagine it would be pretty difficult to change out.

On my Wabash RT the display connector is accessible by removing the feedthrough cover on the top right side of the downtube, and pulling the cable out.
Can one simply swap the Display C against the Display A? Display C can display pedal power via BLE and a connected phone, according to https://www.gasgas.com/landing/downloads/manuals/Yamaha-Basic-manual-X2Y1_MY22_EUR_English.pdf, page 44. Pedal power or torque is what I'm interested in.
I swapped from Display A to Display C on my Wabash RT. Very straightforward. Simple plug and play. However, the connection with the eBike app works somewhat. It isn't showing cadence, but does show speed and distance. The app is supposed to connect with Strava and it says connected, but didn't post my ride afterwards. At the moment, I'm recording my ride on my Garmin Fenix 6X, but it won't connect to the bike, so again, I am missing my cadence data. I was hoping for more, but basically, I really just have a much better display. If I ever figure out the connection to the app, I'll post an update.
