Cannondale Synapse Neo SE or Cannondale Synapse Neo 1

Hi Carsonjones. Somebody just told me that 650b tires will not fit on the Synapse Neo 1. I've heard that they do and now I've heard that they don't. Maybe it depends on model year? Not sure, but you might want to get confirmation about those 650bs for your Synapse before you have them built up.
Hi Timac. I think that might have been me who told you that 650b tires wouldn't work on the Neo 1. What I meant was that if you get 650b tires, I think you have to get different wheels too. The Neo 1 frame will take either wheels designed for 700c tires or wheels designed for 650b tires. At least that is my understanding. I thought when you wanted to ride gravel you just wanted to switch tires, not wheels too. I might be totally screwed up on this -- if you can just put 650b tires on the rims that come with the standard Neo 1 that would be cool! Buying additional wheels might be pretty expensive, though I have not priced them.
Good luck and I'll be interested in what others say about wheel / tire compatibility.

Hi Brenda. Thanks for the update. I actually managed to purchase a Synapse Neo SE at a really great price from REI. I figured that would be best for me. Your advice and the advice from other people on this site was very helpful to me in my decision. Thanks again. (I'll let you know how it works out when I get it and do a test ride. Weatherman says it's gonna be a mild winter around here, so maybe I'll be able to enjoy it sooner rather than later.)

Hopefully, you can get some rides in before the weather gets too cold and the roads get snowy. Good luck -- I think you got the bike you will love!
I may have had my last ride of the season yesterday. They predict snow here in a couple of days.
