There's not much love here for sub $1k ebikes, so I'd like to start a discussion. There aren't that many choices:
1. DIY is probably the best option at this budget, but not everyone wants to do that
2. Chinese brands like Ancheer. I personally wouldn't trust the batteries & build quality.
3. Used/demos/refurbs. Some options below:
1. Ride1Up ROADSTER
$849 (on sale)
(Link Removed - No Longer Exists)
Class 3, 500W rear-hub motor, frame comes in one size
I didn't find a review here but this seems like a great deal.
2. GenZe e101/102
Nearly used on sale starting at $699
Get $100 off nearly new via referral link
Class 2, 350W motor, several frame size options
Review of the older model: https://electricbikereview.com/genze/recreational-e102/
3. Find a used Sondors or Rad Power off craigslist or something, ~$800-$900
