Brake light problem

My ebike already has running/brake lights, they are clear and attach to the lower rear frame near axle. Connect with 2 pin (HIGO) connectors from the controller (500w48v). Battery is 48v13ah... I tried attaching a separate brake light to the rear rack using a 2 pin HIGO Y-splitter. All lights work until I connect the new light. I tested the splitter on another bike, it works there. The new light works if I only connect ONE of the existing rear lights. When I connect ALL lights, NEW light goes out and existing lights work fine,

Seems like it is just something simple I'm overlooking. Any help would be awesome.

Is it plugging in backwards? Same light you have always used? Maybe a different voltage or amp?

I figured the polarity was reversed so I flipped the wire end that goes into the NEW light and nada.. 2 separate wires (2-pin) come off the controller to the rear axle tail lights. I'm going to try to attach one outgoing controller wire directly to the new light and the other to the Y splitter THEN the 2 rear axle lights? maybe?
