Bought an Allant 8s today

I like that and almost bought one similar however my wife got me the pannier in the photo that coverts to a backpack.
She also bought me a new helmet.

With a wife like that I would proudly use such a thoughtful gift. Very nice.

The helmet is a sure sign that she wants you around a while longer

Great bike, we have done a 60 mile ride and still had battery, and they pedal unassisted very well too. Get some clear protective film and do the main tubes.

If the objective is to have a reasonably roomy trunk bag on an Allant 8 or 9, the Rixen Kaul Contourmax has a one bolt mounting bracket that allows for a quick connect/disconnect for a bag the has its own frame built in. This is what I use on my Allant 9.9. It sits high enough such that one could use the built in pannier rails and this bag at the same time.

I really like the Abus folding lock, especially the one with the built in tamper alarm. I feel they hit the right balance between weight and security.

Didn't get a lock yet.
I did have a couple short rides and no falls yet.
Could not seem to keep my prosthesis on the pedal.
After lots of searching I finally found mountain bike shoes. (size 14.5)
Tomorrow I plan to raise the seat again, then start figuring out clip in shoes and pedals.
Hoping for a dry day to ride this weekend.

Update; the pedals are working. Started at the weakest hold and they only dropped my foot one time. I can adjust a little.
Got a folding lock today. It’s heavy but I like it. Thank you Alaskan for the recommendation
Took me five years to climb a hill at my house with my trike. Today I climbed it with the Trek. Heart rate was 161 using turbo! Got some exercise.
NO falls yet.
And I lost a few pounds.

Added a mirror today now that I am successfully playing in traffic. It’s on my right because I lay the bike on the left in my truck.
Also found a small bag to carry wallet and keys under my seat. Very convenient.

Good move on the mirror... since the cars won't watch for you at least you can watch out for them.

I live in a small town that has been good to me riding my trike. Maybe I wiggle just enough on the bike to gain space on the bike.

Hi Goodleg,
There is an alternative way of mounting the mirror on the left hand side of the bike without jeopardizing it during the transport.

This photo is the one I could find the easiest (it is my third e-bike but I have a left-hand side mirror on each of them, mounted the same way). I can assure you the field of view is excellent. Handlebars become narrower again. The mirror is protected during any crash and while the bike is transported inside a car. The most important thing - the mirror is to observe the traffic on your left-hand side.

Semi bike related, I am down 12 pounds since buying the Allant.
Riding and staining the shed have been my exercise. Riding is more fun.

10.8 miles ride today. My longest so far.
Maybe I will upgrade the seat. I ain't that tough.
Definitely used turbo to get me back quicker which was fun.
Had my first fall sort of. Stumbled off to the left while trying to start on a hill.
I proudly recovered but the bike got its first scratch. All good.

I took my first ride today on my Allant 9s since March when I had shoulder surgery. I’ve not finished PT and haven’t been cleared to ride but…five slow miles today left me shaky legged but no damage to shoulder…i did find I couldn’t raise the arm to signal. 20mph wind felt great
