Bosch engine & Garmin watch?

Happy Riese Muller owner. 2021 model, adopting Bosch performance CX. Wondering if someone made it to read out performance data from engine, so that it can feed Garmin watch stats. Can kiox do this?

Hi,

the Bosch BES2 system does not support those stats to be read, also no connection to third party devices. With the newer "Smart" BES3 systems you can connect it via the Flow app to Strava. Since your '21 is not a "Smart" bike the Flow app cannot connect to the bike.

BES2 with Kiox or Nyon can also be set to export to Komoot and Strava automatically from the eBike Connect app.

If OP is trying to see real-time stats on the Garmin that is not possible. If you are trying to see ride stats after the fact, then you have probably 2 ways:

1) log into the eBike Connect web portal after your ride and export the ride(or trip depending on your preference) as a .tcx. I assume the Garmin side has a manual import function either on their app or web portal.

2) set eBike Connect to automatically push rides( or trips) to Strava. There are 3rd party apps/tools you can use to sync between Strava and other ecosystems. SyncmyTracks is one.

This all gets more complicated if you are also recording your ride on the Garmin and you want to merge the Bosch and Garmin ride data into a single activity. There are tools online that let you combine activities then you would reimport the new edited activity. But it's not a 1 click process by any means.

Thanks, will try that. Do you get watts within the stats? I mean the effort/power you've been putting in while pedalling ?
You do, but YMMV depending on the specific path and ecosystems involved.

If you export from the eBike Connect app your only option is a GPX file which does not contain power info. The eBike Connect web portal gives an option of a TCX format which does have the power info.
