Bosch dual battery retrofit

Sorry if this has been covered here before but I am new and wasn't able to find anything definitive here or elsewhere.

I am relatively new to the ebike world, bought a Haibike XDuro Trekking RX in January and love it. However, it only has the 400Wh battery and on my 18 mile commute I need to pay attention so I don't run out out of juice.

Before I invest in a 500Wh battery pack I wanted to see if maybe paying a little extra for the Y-cable and a rack with a 500Wh battery would allow me to retrofit my bike to a dual battery setup with a total of 900Wh.

It is probably more complicated than that but I wanted to get some input from people in the know here.

Thanks!

It's not possible.
Even if you get hold of a local shop that can purchase the Y-cable through their back links, the firmware in your motor controller may not accept the incoming second line.

Why not purchase a separate charger at work?
18 miles should be doable on a 400Whr powerpack unless you have very hilly terrain or using higher assist levels.

I actually carry the charger and "fill up" at work. That's not the issue. And like I said, if I pay attention and don't go into Sport or Turbo too often, I can go the distance.

I was just wondering if it was possible.
