Bikefitting

Recently I purchased a R&M Supercharger Nuvinci HS, and I was very happy with it. However, I felt some discomfort after long bike rides, and maintaining a steady high speed was not always easy.
I searched around on other fora, and someone recommended me to go and see a bikefitter. I didn't expect too much of it, but I feel a big difference both in comfort and speed.

The website I used to find one is http://ibfi-certification.com/find-a-fitter/ , but I'm sure there are others out there. He raised my saddle quite a lot, and changed the stem to increase the distance between my hands and my behind.

Others with the same experience / other tips?
