Check your home policy... Some home/content polices include e-bikes as "exercise equipment" (we have coverage this way with our provider here in Canada).

When I got our ebikes I called my agent (like a good neighbor, she was there!)

Regardless of loss from van or home garage, they are covered, but $1600 deductible applies. This is on $8500 worth of bikes.

She quoted me a personal property policy with $0 deductible . . . $630 per year. I told her thanks, but no thanks.

My concern is whether my homeowners liablity covers me if I'm deemed responsible for a ebike or bike accident. My State Farm guy said I'm covered to $100K for liability, $1000 for property damage to others, and have a $3000 deductible on theft. I also have an umbrella policy. I guess I better not run a Tesla off the road with my $500 ebike.

I see it’s been a while since you’ve posted, but I just wanted to ask if anyone’s had luck bundling their e-bike insurance with a homeowner or renter’s policy lately. Rates seem to be climbing, and I’m wondering if multi-policy discounts are worth looking into—or if a standalone e-bike policy still gives better coverage for theft and damage? Curious what others have found recently.

I signed up with cyclist insurance through Sundays Insurance a few months ago after a friend had their e-bike stolen and their regular renters insurance didn’t fully cover it. What I liked is that it's made for bicycle stuff, so it includes racing and transit use, which my old insurance didn’t. They were also cool with me customizing parts, which can be tricky with standard coverage.
