Battery LED Power Indicator Glitch

Just got a couple of Specialized Como 5.0 bikes. We are very happy with every aspect of the specialized experience - dealer, company and the bike itself. I've got a question about the bike's battery LED readout indicators (see pic). There are five LED lights, the second one of which is noticeably darker or dimmer than the others. Has anybody else encountered this anomaly? Is this something to be concerned about? Since the battery is kind of important I thought I's ask. The dealer said not to worry.

Thanks, Mike

Probably more of a bad light problem. When the bars drop, does it skip past the dead one? Being right next to the first bar, how are you to tell when your at the first bar when the second bar doesn't do anything. I would ask your dealer to fix this as this is unacceptable for a new bike. I wouldn't take no for an answer. They should swap you out for a new battery and fix the light them selves.

Thanks Mark. That's great advice, especially the point regarding the bars dropping. The dealer's been swamped preparing the newly arrived 2020 bikes. I'll update this thread with a resolution.

I'd guess it's not even a bad LED, but rather a bad mounting. It's probably off center or something. I've found those LEDs are merely a suggestion of battery capacity anyway. One of the features I love the most about Bosch powered, is the calculated range based on the last few of miles. That's what I pay attention to on my bikes, not the bars.

Update: Specialized was happy to replace the battery and upgrade the firmware.

After putting a few hundred miles on the bikes we're very satisfied with our purchase and the great service from the Costa Mesa Specialized shop.
