Disappointed with @GiantUK after my £4,500 e-bike battery failed 3 months out of warranty—after barely any use. I’m being asked to pay £650 for a new one! Giant advertises batteries that last years, but mine barely made it 2 years. This isn’t right!
You could have a defective battery... but also care goes a long way.
Did you store it fully charged or at a low state of charge? Charge in very cold/hot condition?
James, I’m going to ask you a stupid question, but only because I fell victim to this myself so misery loves company...
Is your charger possibly plugged into a switched circuit? As in, maybe it’s not turned on? My charger will glow green when the cable is loose or there’s no power from the wall. It actually powers the LED with current *from* the battery and thus appears green (as if the charger thinks it’s fully charged). Of course, it should be red (as it is charging, that is).
I can only tell you that I’ve been fooled by this once (or maybe twice) and I’m not trying to insult your intelligence.
