Bad for motor chain skipping?

I never changed chain of my bike it has run 2400km and now it seems that both casette and chainring is afected. In a few gears the chain now occasionly skips especially if giving more force such as in an uphill.

Could continuing using this in increasingly bad state somehow be bad for the motor Bosch cx?
I would like continue using current parts at least until spring in order for new parts not getting drenched in road salt right away.

Not bad for the motor but you may need to replace the chainring and cassette if you continue to use it. Pretty expensive repair compared to just replacing a chain earlier.

if it is skipping the cassette at least is shot maybe the chain ring too. a new chain may work for a bit but who knows?

Thank you for making me less anxious about the motor.
I think I will be changing casette, chain, chainring and pulley wheels. And buy a damn chain checker so I will replace just chain next time. Maybe keep old parts on hand and put them back on next winter in order to save the new parts from the salt and dirt of winter.

It could also just be the shifter cable loosening up over the past year. Give the adjuster a half turn.

A chain gauge is always a good and inexpensive tool to own.
